Finding Family part 1

In digitizing old family photos I came across this set of three photos from my maternal grandmothers collection. The three pictures measure about 2.25x 3.25 and they are taken at a distance and one of them is blurry. They came with my maternal grandmothers and notes on the back indicate the character in the dress is my great grand father. Fred Nichols.

In looking at my family tree I know that Fred only had one sibling. But Fred's dad, Simeon was the oldest of seven:

Simeon ( b1862), George (b1864),

Otis (b1866), Mary (b1869), Gertrude

(b1871), Sabina (b1875), and Edward

(b1879).

I can conclude from that fact that Great Grandpa Fred and his lovely floral frock are in all three pics that this is a Nichols family gathering. But how to identify who is who? Well unless you have a positive proof picture of each family member you really cant. But with some research, ancestry.com and some educated guesses I can extrapolate and and identify. The results might not be perfect but they will be close.

First however I had to blow up the pics see them clearly. A magnifying glass can only do so much.

These are scanned at 600 dpi and enhanced to bring out details.

Stay tuned while I work my way thru these images trying to identify the players!
