How it all began. The analog age.

Where to start? Well I am an compulsive picture taker and I loved the idea of scrapbooking. Even before scrapbooking was a "thing." My daughters born in 1992 and 1998 gave me the good excuse to pursue this idea of scrapbooking their lives. I finished two books for the first 6 years of oldest daughter's life and then I had anther daughter. Like many projects scrapbooking fell to the wayside. However. I was determined to do them "someday".

Fast forward to 2015

A big x-country move reveled that I had in fact kept virtually everything of my daughters time in school. I had six bins of everything from homework to school announcements to flyers. Virtually everything they brought home was was stashed for "later."

In 2015 my oldest daughter graduated college, my youngest was in tenth grade and I had a lot of time on my hands. So I took on the task of doing these scrapbooks. At the time my oldest daughters scrapbook was done to age five and my youngest's to about age 2. There was a lot to catch up on.

I gave myself a year to finish and since I wasn't working this is what I focused on. I have never spent so much on scrap paper and sticker in my life and frankly I got a bit addicted. I love stickers. Luckily ( maybe not) for me it was the height of the scrapbooking craze. Michaels and other craft stores were overflowing with stickers and paper and albums.

To my utter amazement I finished in about nine months. (like all good things). I proved a couple of things to myself; that I can commit and follow through ( I doubted my ability in that area) and that I could plan and execute that plan in a timely fashion. ( I doubted this ability as well.) It was the first time I had ever really set out goals and committed to them and needless to say I was very proud of myself.
