The Digital Age

If you read my previous post I told and showed you my scrapbooking odyssey. But in sincerity that was only part of the story. I stopped at 8th grade. Why? Because really what do kids make in highschool thats scrapbookable? There are no more art projects or handprint turkeys or paper pumkins, no cotton ball snowmen. Generally there are just term papers and homework but I really wanted to still do something. They lived at home, there were family traditions, holidays, memories and good times. I had the pictures to prove it. ( Have I mentioned I ma a compulsive picture taker?)

I had heard of digital scrapbooking many years earlier and didnt really understand it. I mean how did it work? Was it digital or analog? I dismissed it as a silly thing. Now, however it was a decade later. And I understood the idea a much better. And I had the photoshop skills on my side.

So it began. And needless so say I fell in love immediately. The best thing? No more trips to Michaels.

On the other hand online shops dedicated to digital scrapbooking became my new best friends. At least it was cheaper than Michaels.

The possibilities are endless and really I never turned back. I started digital art journaling, digital painting, digital collaging. But I digress.

I finished my eldest daughters in about 3 months ( give or take). My youngest was still in high school so I held off on that one and took a break. Besides I had other things to explore at that point. However digital was in my blood and I was hooked. My collection of photos and digital resources had exploded to over 130K by 1920. It was time to organize.
